Here’s an early online newspaper setup from back in the day and it only takes 2 hours to download a full paper in text format. (at $5 per hour)

It’s no surprise the San Fran Examiner have embraced mobile, and do it pretty well too.

Back then, the news report predicted we’d consume all our news online, and they’re pretty much right.

The only papers I’ve bought recently have been local one’s, but I pickup mobile versions on my iphone each morning – in particular m.irishtimes.com (I prefer this to the full website) and BBC Mobile.

Now where’s my flying car!

    Guardian have a nice app for the iPhone that includes a facility for downloading sections to read offline.

    Also checkout: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntyXvLnxyXk&feat… – a company called Wonder Factory design a demo of how Sports Illustrated would work on a tablet – it'll be interesting to see what of this translates across to newspaper and magazine apps for the much vaunted Apple Tablet.
