Easily Track Google Position
I’ve used a number of Google Position Monitors over the years, most of which can be messy and don’t allow you to see what position a website is at easily, without setting up a profile, creating a keyword list, and taking a rather long time. Also most of them don’t work with the Irish version of Google.
So, I’ve wrote a small script which allows you to easily view what position a website is at on Google.
It requires the best Firefox add-on ‘Greasemonkey‘
Greasemonkey is a Firefox extension that allows you to customize the way webpages look and function.
You can install the add-on here – http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/10687
You can now update your google preferences to show 100 results per page to give a wider view of where sites are returned.
The script source is available here – http://userscripts.org/scripts/review/10687 and is a relatively simple for if loop with some html wrapped around it to give a large red number

Barry, this script is no longer working. I think Google have changed their code. It will however count video listings….had a look @ the script but it may as well be Greek. Handy little tool though.
i've installed everything but i still don't see the numbers on the left.
It will be great if you could fix it. This is exactly what i needed.
Let me have another look at the code this weekend, Google sometimes change the SERP layout.
